Vandemere is a great place to get on the water! Cast for red drum, flounder, trout, and croaker, or go after blue crab and shrimp; all during their corresponding fishing season, of course!
From kayaks to trawlers—and the occasional pirate ship—you’ll see all kinds of vessels cruising our waters. Just three miles from the Intracoastal Waterway, Vandemere is also a great stop for boaters exploring the coast and heading toward Ocracoke.
Vandemere Waterfront Park
Launch... Fish... Relax... Repeat!
Vandemere’s eight-acre waterfront park is a collaborative effort between the NC Wildlife Commission and the Town, and offers something for everyone—dual boat ramps, a kayak launch, concrete docks, boat slips, gazebos, grills, and public restrooms.
Located along the Bay River, the park provides easy access to excellent boating and fishing. Whether you’re launching a boat, casting a line, or enjoying a family day by the water, Vandemere Waterfront Park is a place to come, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.
